Twitter Accused by @Bitcoin of Shadow Banning

The Twitter handle known as @Bitcoin has become the subject of great controversy after supporters of BTC filed complaints regarding the account. These supporters even tried to shut down the profile itself. The people behind this Bitcoin Twitter profile accused Twitter, the social media platform, on March 23, of making matters worse by placing numerous restrictions on @Bitcoin that supposedly are putting serious limits on its traffic.

Unfair Treatment from Twitter

The person behind the @Bitcoin account believes that his account is being issued unfair restrictions because his account has been criticizing Bitcoin Core (BTC) network as well as the Lightning Network (LN). The show of support also fueled the dispute by @Bitcoin for the Bitcoin Cash (BCH) network. However, many individuals who are proponents of LN and BTC are saying that the @Bitcoin account is a fraudulent account that attempts to mimic Bitcoin.

Traffic Reduction

On the other hand, the @Bitcoin Twitter account witnessed a severe reduction in its traffic. Its owners are accusing Twitter employers of committing a violation of contract called shadow banning. There are some people who believe that the core development team of @Bitcoin is simply issuing positive content. However, the VP of Solutions of Blockstream is confident that the only solution to this is permanent freezing of the account because of long-term cases of fraud.

At the moment, the @Bitcoin handle is not confronting harassment anymore. However, it has not stopped expressing its opposition to the scaling options advocated by LN and BTC supporters. Those who are supporting the @Bitcoin handle are actually suspecting that Bitcoin technology and the @Bitcoin handle may not be totally a part of BTC.
